Description Notes
Black-painted rectangular cast iron base, on which a tuning fork is mounted horizontally. At the top end of the fork a rectangular metal base plate is set across the main base, beneath the fork; it carries two cased lamps whose position can be altered and fixed in place by knurled screws; both lamps with converging lens and connections into underside of plate. The end of the plate nearest the lamps carry a pair of ebonite terminals; the other end carries six ebonite terminals; one pair marked ‘4V - and +’; the next one marked ‘GB’; the next part marked ‘HT - and +’; the last one marked ‘PEC’. The tuning fork itself carries two pairs of metal sheets which touch when the fork is vibrating; also a coil set between the two tines of the fork.
Condition fair; complete.
