Description Notes
McCombie patent position finder, brass. Openwork brass circle (undivided) with one fixed arm and on either side arms pivotting in central mount containing plastic disc with hole in centre. Fixed arm carries two mirrors on reinforcing brass piece, one fixed the other pivotting. The moving arms can be clamped in position on the circle and a mirror, pivotting in a mount on the far side of the circle from the fixed arm, can be linked, via a brass arm to either of the moveable arms and so move with them. This mirror has a sighting hole. Fitted mahogany box, the instrument resting in a felt-lined drawer, with 2 brass handles.
