Navigational depth sounder gauge / rule, in boxwood, by Kelvin, Bottomley & Baird, Scottish, c. 1915.

Boxwood rule with upright, secured by brass pins, for retaining the glass tube of a Kelvin sounder. Brass end-stop secured by brass pins. Non-linear scale of 5-100 ‘FATHOMS’. Table of atmospheric pressure corrections on reverse.

Condition: good; complete.
