Description Notes

sympiesometer, Somalvico & Co, 1850 (c).

Carved mahogany case; glazed panel to silvered scale; mercury thermometer on left with scale divided 0-110 (oF) by 10 to 0.5. Glass pressure tube on right with scale divided 110-30 by 10 to 0.5 with silvered sliding scale, moved by knurled screw outside case, graduated 28-31 by 1 to 1/40 and marked FAIR/Change/RAIN. Silvered dial at base divided 28-31 to 1. Fluid is light oil.
