Freezing microtome, by A. Frazer, Scottish, 1880 (c).

Sledge and knife of freezing microtome. Cast iron base with sloping bed carrying a large knife edge (with spare knife) moved by brass spoked wheel behind the bed; mahogany turned handles either side.
