Description Notes
Wooden (pine?) board with boxwood scales either end; lower end graduated 0-(49) by 2 to 1 marked “YARDS 2 INCHES = 1 MILE”; upper edge graduated 0-6 “INCHES” with 0-1 subdivided into 1/50”. Inset compass in upper edge with rotating glass cover, surround divided into 36 points with no markings. Rollers along both long edges with clamping screws for paper.
Inset clinometer on reverse (corroded and broken) with yellow plastic cover. Leather strap for attachment to cavalryman’s arm.
