Description Notes
Brass and oxidised brass drum containing disc with sectors cut out of it which is turned by a series of gear wheels outside the drumand driven by a wooden handle. A tube on top of the instrument allows the scintillations to be viewed.
Wooden box with sliding lid contains three crystals; note on top reads ‘J. Duboscq Cristaux p. phosophoroscope. 21, Rue de l’Odéon, Paris’.
Envelope contains one further crystal, originally set in brass-bound cork which slides into side of chamber.
Condition good; complete.
