Description Notes
Circular outer casing of two plates of aluminium; graduated 0-45-0 x 4 to 1˚. Brass casing between plates. Spindle and reel inside box with steel tape wound round reel; brass hook on end of tape. Tape graduated in inches. Reel fixed by catch and spring (broken). Single bubble level on brass plate pivotting round centre point with index on ends of plate. (Patent mentions more usual form with 3 bubble levels); steel index pivots freely from centre point. Brass bail handle opposite tape and hook. Hinged brass winding handle for reel. Fitted wooden box.
