Sounding sextant, by H. Hughes & Son, English, 1925 (c).

Brass frame; circular index mirror; horizon mirror; telescope with black shagreen body and screw focus clamped by knurled screw; ebony eyepiece; index arm with clamp and slow motion screw reading glass above vernier; gilded (?) scale divided 150-(5) by 10˚ to 30’ and by vernier to 1’; mahogany (?) handle (recent replacement?); fitted wooden box with Admiralty ‘Certificate of serviceability’.
