Description Notes
Boxwood rectangle. Folding slit and window sights. Brass semi-circle with indicator arm reading scale of elevation and depression graduated on boxwood 60-0-60 to 1. Card compass ggraduated 0-360˚ to 5˚ with 16 point rose. Bevelled edges graduated: 3 sides 0-180 and 180-360˚ to 1˚ clockwise. Fourth side 0-24 clockwise and 0-13 anti-clockwise.
On reverse: scale of Yards at 1 inch to a mile; millimetres and centimetres; scale of Links, scale of degrees of slope; horizontal equivalent for scales of 2” to 1 mile and smaller scales; diagonal scale of inches. Formulae for calculating Horizontal equivalents, degrees of slope and vertical intevrae etc.
