Description Notes
Mahogany box with hinged lid; brass hinges and push-button fastener. Two brass terminals on outside of box at one side; front of box carries four further brass terminals. Inside the box is an induction coil wound on a boxwood cylinder and covered with green silk. Two further brass terminals. Pair of brass cylinders, one of which fits inside the other. Two silk-coated copper wires with brass pins which fit the terminals on the front of the box. Paper label stuck into lid carries recipe which reads ‘for 1 Quart of Water 3 1/4 oz Bicromate of Potassium (red) 6 1/2 oz Sulphuric Acid’.
Condition good; complete.
