Description Notes

Microscope, reading, by Cambridge Scientific Instrument Company, English, 1913.

Cambridge reading microscope is mounted on a metal frame which allows the microscope to be used in the vertical, inclined or horizontal (for which there are three levelling screws) position. The metal tube to which the microscope is clamped can be traversed through 40mm by the screw and milled head at the bottom, the micrometer being divided into 0.001mm. Parallel to the metal tube is a support for a sliding table (missing) which has brass centring adjustments controlled by two screws. The microscope is focused by Lucas’ Patent slow motion mechanism, using a knurled knob. The microscope is fastened to the metal tube by an adjustable clamp with two screws; the objective lens and the eyepiece can be removed.
