Description Notes
Table spectrometer. Slit with steel jaws, width adjustable by screw with head divided 0-10. Slit moved by rack and pinion, with 2 knurled screws, collimator with additional draw tube. Central circular stage, divided 0-360 by 1˚, subdivided to 20 minutes. Double silvered scale, outer giving position of telescope, inner of prism platform, both with silvered verniers. 2-stage platform for prism; upper stage removable part-oxidised brass platform with 3 levelling screws and arm and clamping screw for prism; lower stage rotated by knurled screw beneath. Metal surround for prism, with 2 aperture holes and wooden lid. Brass telescope with rack and pinion focus, clamp and tangent screws. Pillar and tripod stand with three levelling screws.
