Description Notes

Hilger’s quartz spectrograph. Adjustable slit with steel jaws, moved by knurled screw with drumhead divided 0-10. Sliding brass stop for adjusting height of slit. Brass collimator with one drawer. Central wooden box, polished brass maker’s plate. Brass telescope tube with wooden camera. Adjustment for photographic plate with bellows, clamp, arc graduated 0-20; vertical motion by 2 linked pinions and knurled screws with 10mm vertical steel scale, but actual housing for photographic plate is missing. Brass support beneath prism, on cast pillar and tripod stand, painted.
