Description Notes

Glass vacuum tube with central spherical chamber tinged purple by gas. Electrodes in opposing tubes, one ending in open cylinder, inside which the other passes. Paper label at top with serial number and Watson & Sons’ number (given as C649) and initialled. Watson & Sons’ label completely covers another French label which can be partially read at one side. Cavendish label reads ‘Rectifier for X ray tube. ?American type. [later tick]. Kenotron or hot cathode valve tube.

Condition fair; complete.
