Description Notes
Glass tube with central spherical chamber. White metal rod anode in tube. Opposite this is a long tube from sphere containing white metal cathode ending in concave disc. Side arm containing the connection for the target, which consists of an white metal disc at the end of a white metal cylinder. Side arm evacuation tube with carbon-mica regulator. White metal caps on electrodes to aid electrical connection; spiral wire connects anode and target, another wire connects cathode and regulator. Attached label reads ‘No. 10 Series 13 from Muller’s Catalogue has a specially strong + heavy pattern anti-cathode and is designed to dissipate the heat engendered by the discharge. Standard Carbon-Mica regulator giving good control of vacuum.’ Also has a label on cathode tube reading ‘DUD’.
