Description Notes

Electromagnet used to study the Zeeman Effect on optical spectra, English, early 20th century.

Pair of cast iron standards support large cylindrical coil between them. Mounted around each standard is a square coil, each with a pair of terminals. Set in the tops of the standards are two cylindrical iron bars, shaped to a point at their inner ends which nearly meet.

Condition poor; complete.
