Description Notes
Mahogany base with shaped wooden frame surmounted by brass ball, supporting steel axle, crank and turning handle; glass disk (broken) clamped to axle by leather and brass washers. Frame carrying two pairs of removable oval-shaped red leather friction pads, stuffed with horse hair, mounted on wood and numbered in pencil on the back. Four glass columns, with brass fittings, supporting two cylindrical brass conductors; the joints and terminals of the framework thus formed are marked by brass spheres.
