Description Notes

IME (Industria Macchine Elettroniche) digicorder. Accessory unit to the IME 86S calculator, functioning as a digicorder magneitc core memory and program unit.

Painted metal case on 4 rubber feet. Cooling vents on top and side of instrument. Along the right-hand side, at bottom, is a metal slot for inserting progamming cards. At front is panel with perspex cover with switch for ‘programming’, ‘comp.1’ and ‘computing 2’, 13 black keys for operating instrument, and 6 red indicator lights. Below this panel is a panel with black keys for ‘find’, ‘start’ and ‘repeat’ and a red indicator light. Further set of switches at bottom front of instrument marked A - H and P, with another red indicator light.

On top is a sticky label, which, in Francis Hookham’s hand, reads ‘Digicorder for Card Programming IMES65 kindly given by David Shoesmith in Sept. 1979’.
Electrical cable lacks plug.
Soft plastic dust cover.

Condition good; complete.
One of the rubber feet is missing and the others are very worn.

Events

Description
The keys on the front of the digicorder are used to select programs and sub-programs to run in computation mode.
The programs are written on the IME 86-S calculator to which the digicorder attaches, or by inserting edge punched cards into the digicorder.
