Rubus ideus. maker G. Henslow
Colour printed botanical teaching diagram of Rubus Ideus, the common raspberry. The wallchart depicts 12 separate diagrams of parts of the raspberry and its bush and are numbered using the letters a - l (omitting j). a and a1 are the larger central diagrams depicting the plant as a whole with a1 showing the root. Figures b and c depict the flower with sepals, carpel and stamen, c being a cross section of b. Figure d is a close up of a single carpel. Figures e, f, g and h show the anatomy of the fruit with e showing a single whole raspberry and f showing a vertical cross section through it. Figures g and h show a single lobe of the fruit and a cross section across it revealing the seed inside. Figures i, k and l show cross sections through this seed.
A piece in the bottom right hand corner has been torn off of the chart and there is a long rip running from the centre of the bottom edge for 160mm.
Good/fair condition.
