Pyrus malus. Maker G. Henslow

Colour printed botanical teaching diagram of Pyrus malus, the apple. The wallchart consists of 7 separate diagrams depicting the blossom and fruit. Figure a depicts an apple branch laden with blossom whilst figure b is a close up of a single blossom. Figure c shows a cross section through a blossom minus the petals and figure d a horizontal cross section through the stigma, showing the ovaries that will develop into the fruit. Figure e shows the mature apple in situ on a branch with f showing a vertical cross section through the fruit and g a horizontal cross section.
