Description Notes

Recording oscilloscope cardiograph camera, by the Cambridge Instrument Company, English, 1926. (This instrument is recorded in the CSI serial number ledger as one of a batch of 20 “M. 20-60mm paper camera for cardiographs”.)

Square wooden base on which is set a rectangular wooden box. Near the top of the front of the box is a glazed window behind which is set a paper scale divided [28] - 0 - [28], numbered by 10, subdivided to 1; the scale can be turned out of view by a brass knob on the side of the box. On the other side of the box is a black plastic plate with a brass pulley which turns a gear wheel (the motor for the pulley is missing); the gear wheel turns a brass drum inside the top of the box. This drum would have carried a recording paper. The top of the box is partially lined with green baize; inserted into this section is a smaller wooden box with a sliding side panel. Another wooden box can be slotted into the base of the main box. This last box has a sliding top panel with a steel guillotine.
One brass terminal on base.

Incomplete (missing motor)
