Description Notes
Ivory with brass fittings. Turned barrel-shaped case. The base screws off to reveal a mirror in the lower section. Above this a compass (card a replacement) with pierced dial plate set over it (detached; 1-2-2000), divided IIII - XII, I - VIII, numbered by I, divided to 30 minutes; folding gnomon for 51˚ N with owner’s (?) monogram ‘HH’. Lunar volvelle and aspectarium in next section. Upper section with pierced top - a sand caster.
Condition: fair; complete.
