Description Notes

Rectangular wooden box; lid and carrying strap missing. Ebonite top on instrument section which adjoins compartment which would once have contained two batteries.
Two pairs of terminals, one marked ‘Std Cell’, the other marked ‘X’; brass knob for adjusting rheostat; switch for setting the range of the slide wire (part missing) and a brass drum marked ‘To Clamp Press & Turn’. Glazed window allow viewing of paper-covered drum which shows the reading in millivolts. The space below the top plate also carries a Weston standard cell and an accumulator. Further pair of brass terminals on side of box.
