Description Notes

Red-painted tribrarch iron stand supports brass column on which sits a black-painted wooden box with a hinged lid. Box contains an arrangement of lenses, prisms and a mirror. Brass tubes carrying polarising prisms attached to one end and one side of box. The other end carries eyepiece with screw-fit eye-end which carries pointer moving over dial divided 0 - [360]˚ numbered by 10 subdivided to 1. Angle of mirror adjusted by brass rod with index moving over calibrated scale at eye-end.
