Description Notes

Colour Wheel and Chromatic Circle of Forichon. French late 19th century. Pine wood box with brass makers plaque on from side. Attached to lid with brass pins is the brass chromatic circle of Forichon. Scale is 0-250 in 10° steps. Circle is labelled with the colors Rouge ( above 0°) Jaune (above 50°) Vert (above 100°) Bleu (above 150°) and Violet (above 200°). The lid slides off to reveal a compartment containing six packets of coloured sectors in various sizes and a computational paper “Rapporteur Centesimal”. The base also slides away to reveal a compartment that contains the iron flywheel with table mount (clamp type mechanism).
