Description Notes
Cloth backed and varnished printed paper chart, mounted by means of iron tacks and tape onto a strip of black painted moulding at the top and a black painted dowel rod at the base. The whole is to be suspended by a string fastened to the top dowel by means of two brass rings. The poster gives the chemical tests for a variety of poisons, Arsenic, Antimony, Bismuth, Copper... with small diagrams beside the text showing the colours obtained in the tests.
Condition poor
The iron tacks are rusted and the bottom right of the poster has torn away from the dowel which can be seen at the ends to be wormed and maybe rotting too. The chart is separating from its backing, is worn and a little torn at the edges and has which creases and lines across it where the yellow varnish is flaking off. The top of the chart has several dark brown stain marks.
