Description Notes

botanical teaching model of a palm tree (type) trunk section with branch made of papier mâche, 19th century, circa 1880. On the base of the trunk is a paper label with a blue border and handwritten in side of the border is the number 372.

The section is probably an eighth. At the core is a piece of wood over which is layered materials such as card, papier mâche and glass.

Labelled parts are with both handwritten and type written text, the typewritten a later addition. Small labels depicting hands indicate where to disassemble and reassemble the model. There is half a label attached with a piece of string, the French text is handwritten but difficult to discern.

Condition good to fair.
