Description Notes

botanical teaching model of Equisetum spores and elateres made of wood and papier mâche by Hagenbeek Wageningen (or Brendel of Berlin) from the 19th century.

Wooden base painted black. In the centre of the base is a blue label with Latin classifications, English, French, German and Italian translations. Below the blue label is a paper label with a blue border inside of which is black handwritten type “424”. The base is turned with four turned wooden columns to support the spores and elateres. The spores etc reside at the top of wooden support rods. These spores are made of bakelite. Two of the rods have further paper labels with the number “3” in black handwritten ink.
