Botanical wallchart, depicting Pinus Laricio: ovule and embryo, by Arnold Dodel Port.
Diagrams depicting Pinus Laricio: ovule and embryo. There are ten diagrams, all printed and in colour. They are numbered from Fig. 1. to Fig. 10.. Each has a scale ratio. Fig. 3. is large and in the centre of the chart. The other diagrams are around the edges. Structures on nine of the diagrams are labelled by letters. There is no key.
Inscriptions are in the top left corner and across the bottom. They are all printed.
Reference number is in the bottom right corner.

Description
Swiss husband and wife team Arnold and Carolina Dodel-Port created this illustration for their Dodel-Port Atlas, an atlas of botany for school students. Both botanists (Arnold at the University of Zurich), together they made many new discoveries about the plants they were studying. They wrote to Charles Darwin, who said that Carolina’s drawings showed information about plants in a 'wonderfully clear manner'.
