Description Notes

Van de Graaf generator. Base is circular and made of white plastic, with a terminal on it. On it is a smaller circle of black plastic, from which two joined rectangles of perspex extend upwards. At the top of the perspex a metal disc is attached, with another on top of it. Bolted horizontally across from just below this disc is a roller. A similar roller is attached to a motor on the base. Around the two rollers is a synthetic rubber belt. A comb (?) is positioned near the upper roller. The upper roller is surrounded by a detachable aluminium spinning, which rests on the top-most metal disc. The base and motor are covered by a plastic cover, with a hole in the middle throught which the belt and perspex block go.
Lead and plug attached to motor.

Label on bottom, from ‘Electrical Appliance Testing Ltd’, for passing a safety test, dated 1-1999.
