a wooden sphere for induction that forms part of an electrostatic set accompanying the Van de Graaf generator Wh5748. 20th Century.
Wooden sphere coated with tinfoil. Tin foil has several repairs made to it - repairs through replacing missing tin foil with new patches. The sphere then appears to have been painted a like silver colour as the support stand has paint marks up on it. Sphere attached to insulated stand. Stand is comprised of iron three footed base with brass collar sunk into base, from brass collar extends glass rod stand finishing in second brass collar onto which the wood / tin sphere is attached.
Condition good.
