a wooden cylinder for induction that forms part of an electrostatic set accompanying the Van de Graaf generator Wh5748. 20th Century.
Wooden cylinder coated with tinfoil. Tin foil has several repairs made to it - repairs through replacing missing tin foil with new patches. The cylinder then appears to have been painted a like silver colour as the support stand has paint marks up on it. Cylinder attached to insulated stand. Stand is comprised of iron three footed base with brass collar sunk into base, from brass collar extends glass rod stand finishing in second brass collar onto which the wood / tin cylinder is attached.
Condition good.
