Description Notes

a faraday’s net that forms part of an electrostatic set accompanying the Van de Graaf generator Wh5748. 20th Century. To show that the charge of electricity resides only on the surface of conducting bodies. Comprising a conical bag of linen gauze upon an insulating stand, to which silk strings are attached by which it can be turned inside out. Stand three footed and made of iron. Linen gauze and silk strings green in colour. Makers label present on the three footed stand. “Griffin and Tatlock”

Condition good to fair as there are three noticeable holes in the linen gauze.
