Description Notes

“Flicker photometer”. Wooden box, mounted on painted metal (cast iron?)base with three feet. Box is able to pivot. At the front of the box a metal rod runs from the base to the photometer head. Attached to the top of the rod is a black metal scale, marked 90-0-90, by 10 degrees, subdivided by degrees. Steel (?) pointer. On the left hand side of the box is a brass knob, and on the right a black key which rotates white disk inside the box. At the back of the base a metal rod again runs up to the photometer head. At the top of this rod is a black knurled knob. The photometer head consists of a black metal compartment, with two tubes, one on either side. These have openings in the top, and are mounted on sections of metal which are able to pivot, thus exposing the inside of the photometer. On the top of the metal compartment there is a horizontal brass tube, with a detachable eyepiece. Brass screws on box and head.

Condition: good; complete (?).
