Description
During the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, globes were increasingly used in classrooms or in other sort of educational settings as a teaching aid for geography. This educational globe was designed for use in the home or classroom to assist in the teaching of various geographical and astronomical phenomena. Diagrams on the side of the tin drum illustrate concepts such as the ecliptic (the apparent path of the Sun through the sky relative to the stars) and the phases of the Moon.
