Description Notes
moving coil reflecting galvanometer circa 1940 by V.T.S. Ltd. Galvanometer mark II. Galvanometer housed in a wooden box with leather handle on the top, brass hooks to close door. Inside the door is an examination certificate. This indicates Periodic Time, Instrument Resistance, External Resistance Aperiodic Damping and Sensitivity. Attached to the door are wooden housings for the suspensions helix and the suspensions strip. Paper labels are glued to the appropriate housing indicating what is contained inside. There is one suspension strip and three suspension helix underneath the housing.
The galvanometer has a black-painted metal casing; three brass and ebonite levelling feet. The casing can turn through 360 degrees on the base ; one bubble level; two ebonite covered terminals; Circular glazed window showing suspended circular mirror and suspension strip; iron core; permanent magnet.
Makers mark on collar above base, serial plaque above makers mark.
