Description Notes

paper-faced brass horary quadrant, with leather pouch, by Henry Sutton, English, 1658.

Paper faced brass quadrant dated 1658 with leather pouch by H. Sutton. The quadrant incorporates a calendar scale, five star positions, degree scale, sites and plumb-bob cord (plumb-bob missing). The quadrant has an arc of four and a quarter inches.

Both quadrant and pouch are in fair condition; the verso of the quadrant is covered in verdigris.
