Bodyscope, colour printed anatomical book with rotating discs.
Folio with leatherette-covered boards, the cover with gilt-tooled title and caduceus, the contents shown on two colour lithographed paper-covered pierced card sleeves with a turning card disc inside each of the four pages. With pierced sections on pages 1 and 4 each lettered A,B, and C and with 5 subjects on the rotating disc for each pierced window. Pages 2 and 3 have 5 complete subjects on the disc continued over the three windows, the main window on each being the torso of a male and of a female body. Each page concentrates on a different area with descriptive and explanatory passages for each subject covered, as well as small drawings of various figures from medical history with their dates, such as Hippocrates, Aristotle, Leonardo da Vinci and so on. A short epigram is written on each by R.H. Segal.
Condition good to fair but spine is breaking and front leaf has come away
