Description Notes

Brass cylinder in two parts, divided by silvered scale. Single set of slit and window sights in lower section. Scale divided 0 - 360 in single degrees. 2 sets of slit and window sights set mutually at right angles. Upper cylinder revolves horizontally over lower circle; controlled by tangent screws and pinion cylinder; Compass with 4 point rose; silvered scale 0 - 360º.

Wooden box with a worn label on the lid reading “316”. The lid has a large crack down the centre and is also split where a screw has been driven into the top.
