Description Notes

Artillery director used for topographical triangulation on survey of Svalbard.

The instrument has a central screw foot and key for mounting on a tripod. Set on a circular screw turn base marked 0˚-180˚-0˚ around the edge to allow the unit to swivel on the horizontal plane. The unit itelf consists of a bubble level and telescopic sight which also tilts in the vertical plane via a screw thread.

The instrument comes in a stitched leather carry case.

Condition: good; complete.
