Featuring various popular figures of the time as monkeys. The two monkeys in the top left hand corner are Lancaster and Huxley.

Our cartoonist takes inspiration from Charles Darwin's theory of evolution in this satirical print published in "Truth" magazine in 1883. The most powerful men in Britain are shown as monkeys playing in the zoo, from the scientists of the Royal Society to the judges perched high above the throng.
