Description
Angelo Sismonda da Corneliano was born in Corneliano on 20th August, 1807. After graduating in physics and chemistry he went to Turin and studied under the direction of the museum of mineralogy and geology of Turin.
In 1835 he was elected a member of the Academy of Sciences of Turin and in 1869 he directed the section of physical and mathematical sciences.
He died in Turin on 20th December, 1878, and has a street in the city of Turin named after him as well as the mineral Sismondite.
