Description Notes

Large mahogany base supporting two wooden and brass columns. The gear system is supported on two brass cross-beams; identical (but reversed) combinations of larger and smaller gear-wheel section interlock to illustrate the working of the gear mechanism, and the ratio's of the gear wheels. Mahogany beam connects the two pillars at the top, and the columns are finished with brass finials. Small plaque on the base is stamped with the inscription: A 54
