Description Notes
Two pairs of long-bulb mercury in glass low-temperature Celsius thermometers, with expansion chambers. Each pair standing in a silvered vacuum flask, held on a wooden base.
5936.1: One thermometer has a scale in centigrade from 0 to 6.4 and an expansion reservoir at the top with the numbers 00, 20, 40, 60, 80, 100 and 120. The other has a similar expansion reservoir with the inclusion of -20, and a scale ranging from -6 to 0˚C. Both have tapered ends and metal tops.
5936.2: One thermometer has a scale from -0.15 to 6.25˚C and an expansion reservoir at the top with the numbers 140, 120, 100, 80, 60, 40, 20, 00, -20. The other has a scale from 0 to 6˚C and an expansion reservoir with the numbers 120, 100, 80, 60, 40, 20, 00, and -20. Both have tapered ends and metal tops.
