Description Notes
A hand-coloured lithograph with varnished highlights mounted on card and divided into body parts forming a puzzle of sixteen occupations with multiplication sums and answers at the end. Numbered cards correspond to the answers. In original labelled box with varnishes hand-coloured illustration of children playing the game. One lotto card is missing and has been replaced by a pen and watercolour copy.

Arithmetical lottery card game
Made by Muller. German, c.1860
This child's game was designed to teach multiplication. It consists of hand-coloured cards that are divided into body parts with multiplication sums and answers on the ends.
When put together, the cards form sixteen figures, each undertaking a different task. Some of the figures are gentlemen with scientific instruments. One card shows a man with a telescope, and another shows a man studying celestial charts.
