Description Notes

Glazed transit box for the transportation of Cambridge Scientific Instrument Company galvanometer movements. The lid is screwed down and the box contains two brass runs with places to screw in 10 galvanometer movements. The box currently has four screwed in place. The movements include a horseshoe magnet, coils and a fine wire pointer. There appears to be two slightly different types. There is a label on the glazed lid which is barely readable. It is thought that the box may have been used to transport galvanometer movements from the CSI works at Muswell hill to those in Cambridge.
