Description Notes

Two tambours attached to an adjustable stand by open-sided "X" blocks and one loose tambour incomplete by C. F. Palmer, London; circa 1940

Triangular base stand (painted green), whose upright can be finely turned clockwise by means of a screw pushing against a simple spring. Attached to this are two "X" blocks (screw clamps) that can screw two rods together at right angles. The two "X" blocks attach the two tambours, one 155mm in length and the other 210mm. The smaller tambour has a thin rubber diaphragm of a 35mm diameter on the end of a hollow rod and a pin which balances on the diaphragm that can be adjusted by means of a screw that slides along the rod, the wooden pin is broken at the end. The larger tambour has a rubber diaphragm of a 82mm diameter and an adjustable pin that balances on it and slides along the rod. The diaphragm can be adjusted in the vertical plane via a screw attached to the main rod.
The loose tambour is missing the rest that would balance the pin on the rubber diaphragm. It measures 210mm in length and has a diaphragm of 82mm. It is attached to an "X" block screw clamp.
