Description
The otoscope is a device for examining the ear. A mirror inclined at 45° to the handle reflects light from the bulb into the ear. The doctor can then look down the eyepiece into the ear through a small hole in the mirror. There are three interchangeable earpieces that fit onto the end.

The laryngoscope has a curved plate that can be pressed down on the tongue so that a doctor can examine the back of the mouth which would be illuminated by the bulb at the top of this instrument.

The other instruments would be used for illuminating the eyes or anywhere else that was being inspected for infection.
