Description Notes
Two needles for deep suturing in fitted box; by Evans and Wormull; mid to late 20th C
Each with steel handle with diagonal identations for grip; steel shaft. Straight to top, then curved in a semi-circle at right angles to shaft. Aperture at tip.
Leather fitted box with silk and velvet lining; leather and cloth hinges; brass(?) fastening clip.
Condition good; complete

Description
These two needles would have been used for deep suturing. During surgery it is not always possible to sew stitches manually and a pair of needles on handles can be used to perform the task.
